The historic Barber silver coins were once everyday use in America, but they were last struck by the U.S. Mint before World War I. The coins are named after their designer, Charles E. Barber, who was Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint and one of America's most famous coin designers.
Each of the coins in this collection was minted in .900 silver. They feature similar obverse designs of Liberty with a triple headdress of cap, laurel wreath, and a coronet inscribed with the word "Liberty." The Barber Silver Dime and Quarter were minted from 1892-1916, while the Barber Silver Half Dollar was minted from 1892-1915.
