Commemorating the 175th anniversary of the first stage coach service between Kingston and York in January 1817. Samuel Purdy was only able to maintain regular service during the winter months, hence the sleigh with runners. This is the first issue of a coin in sterling silver since the pattern dollar was struck in London by the Royal Mint in 1911.
