From 1971-1980, previously known as the prestige set, this 7 coin set has been upgraded to proof status. Set comes in a black box with red satin interior. The 1981 silver dollar commemorates the 100th anniversary of the approval by the Canadian government to build the trans-Canada railway. This is the first year of issue by the Mint of two different qualities of silver dollars
